WELCOME TO SMETA
Good for you for checking out the SMETA web site, and welcome! The San Mateo Elementary Teachers’ Association (SMETA) is the exclusive bargaining representative for all San Mateo - Foster City non-management certificated employees. SMETA represents over 550 people and strives to reflect the collective strength and needs of our membership while being a collaborative partner with other groups within our district. SMETA is affiliated with the California Teachers’ Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA). Look to this site for information on SMETA Governing Council and Executive Board meetings, summaries of School Board meetings, articles on current events that impact your professional world, District bargaining issues, and SMETA activities. You’ll also find contact information for reaching members of the SMETA Executive Board, should you need our assistance or have questions.
